Cloanlawers 1 -Cup & Ring Marked Rock

The ancient Cloanlawers 1 outcrop towers over Loch Tay from the north, its rugged slopes rising majestically to a height of over 400 meters on the flanks of Meall Greigh. A mesmerizing display of craftsmanship adorns this rocky sentinel, featuring a stunning cup with seven intricately carved rings and a meandering gutter. Two smaller cups boast single, delicate rings, while three unadorned vessels sit in stark contrast to the masterful artistry on full display. The largest carving measures an impressive 600mm in diameter, its circumference encompassing a total of seven rings. The gutter flows smoothly from the central cup to the sixth ring, where it meets the edge of the seventh and outermost ring. A single-ring carving is positioned tantalizingly close to the northeast edge of this final ring. Looking southward from the fissure, four additional plain cups emerge from the shadows, adding to the outcrop's mystique.
