I printed the Spool Mount, Part Number 590956, and was thrilled with the result until I attempted to put it to use. However, upon doing so, it immediately began to separate, causing the filament spool to drop from its perch. As a direct response, I set out to create these specialized clips designed specifically to secure the Spool Mount. By threading them through the open webbing of the Spool Mount and fastening with four 4-inch wire ties, they serve as a sturdy attachment solution. These attachments were engineered with the intent of accommodating spools measuring 65 millimeters in width. A convenient feature built into their design is a small hole positioned at the center front clip that functions as a guide for filament during print jobs. It's recommended to employ these attachments when using the specified width of filament, and I suggest you follow suit for optimal results. Instructions For Use To successfully implement this solution, follow these steps: begin by printing them in PLA material with a 0.3mm layer height, utilize a nozzle diameter of 0.4mm, set your temperature to 200 degrees Celsius, and operate within a heated environment at 50 degrees Celsius. To complete the installation process, you will need to use four wire ties that measure 4 inches in length. UPDATE (01-01-15) In response to growing demand for customization, I created a revised model of these attachments featuring adjustable fan brackets for greater flexibility. If interested, this update requires M3x12 screws and four nuts along with any necessary hardware components used to secure your desired fan. Please note that it can accommodate most fan sizes – for instance, a fairly large 100mm cooling fan has been successfully employed by myself to cool an entire print bed without ducting complications. It performs remarkably well during active printing periods, maintaining a consistent temperature even after job completion.
