This two-part clamp works by screwing the pieces together, which applies pressure via a wedge on the post for maintaining position. After printing, the parts snap together only once. Astronauts would never say they lost the other half of this clamp! A proof of concept video was added on 3/12/15, and an optimized version for printing was updated on 3/15/15. A printing attempt on 3/16/15 faced failure due to lack of resources, but the threads were usable with light sanding. The flexible points were flexible, while the T-slot area was rigid. The one-time snap feature seemed functional. While it's a viable solution, further refinement is needed for NASA's handrail clamp assembly challenge; other finalists offer better plastic utilization and more polished designs.
