Clipless Body Mounts for Traxxas TRX4 '79 Bronco

NOTE: At this time, the front bracket does not leave room for an ESS Dual sound unit in the front battery tray area. At some point, I will upload a fixed version that solves this problem. This bracket allows you to use the Traxxas clipless body mounting system (as used on the 2021 Bronco and other newer TRX-4s) on the older Bronco body. In addition to printing these parts, you will need the following Traxxas parts: 8080X (inner fenders with clipless mounts) 9216 (clipless body latches) 3931 (3x8 flat head screws) The inner fenders are installed on the chassis, replacing the original inner fenders. The 3D printed brackets bolt onto the body using the existing body post holes as bolt holes. Do not install the original body posts, as they will get in the way of the latches. The front bracket should be oriented with the flat side facing down toward the chassis and the two pointy things facing back toward the windshield. The rear bracket should be oriented with the pylons pointing down toward the chassis and offset toward the rear of the vehicle. The flat head screws go through the body holes from the top and into the two holes in the top of each bracket. The latches bolt onto the downward-facing side of the brackets using the four holes provided. (Photos to be added soon.) The screw holes have slightly tapered edges to make it easier to insert the screws, but you will still have to be careful to avoid stripping out the holes the first time you put them in. I recommend turning them with a hand tool while applying pressure on the screw to make sure it cuts threads into the hole. If you use a power tool, stop it before the screw is fully in and do the last few turns by hand. You may find it easier to line up the holes if you attach the latches to the brackets first, clip them into the chassis, and then set the body on top. Once the flat head screws are installed, you can remove the body from the chassis as usual. This bracket was designed to fit the '79 Bronco body. It MAY also fit the '79 Blazer body, although I have not tried it. I'm fairly certain it will not fit the Defender body without significant modification. The '79 Bronco body is the only one I have on hand to experiment with, so I cannot say for sure which other bodies it will fit.
