This DIY step stool showcases all the attributes you'd anticipate from a digital fabrication design: * eco-friendly material (plywood) ensures minimal environmental impact * CNC-machinable with a focus on material efficiency * flat pack shipping and storage simplify logistics * tool-free assembly eliminates unnecessary tools and mess * sleek, rock-solid construction guarantees stability To perfect the clip tenon construction, I refined the design through three iterations. Each version improved significantly in terms of stability. Validation took place on scaled-down models to test performance. The parts fit seamlessly onto a 350 mm x 600 mm piece of 15 mm Baltic birch wood. One version of the drawing is optimized for machining with overcuts designed for a 5 mm diameter tool.
