Clip on filament roller/guide for Ender 3 for lower side mounted filament
thingiverse
This is a Remix of theroar's awesome snap on filament guide. Credit goes to him and check out his great stuff at https://www.thingiverse.com/theroar/about and his youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCn4KZHC7_8MpyVCVfdwYAw I loved the idea of lowering my filament for a more direct feed and reducing weight on top, as seen here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2967567 . After modifying my setup, I realized that my old filament guide was no longer needed. Using Tinkercad, I modified theroar's filament guide v7 to move the bearing down so the filament rolls over it perfectly. You'll need a 608 bearing that snaps on easily and a guide for the bearing. I used the filament_bearing_v2.stl from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3047572 , which works flawlessly. I know my design isn't perfect, but I'm still learning to edit and create models - it's functional at least! The built-in support from the original author is present and snaps off easily once printed. I personally printed with 50% infill, but you can likely get away with less.
