Anyone who reads paperbacks and magazines will appreciate this simple bookmark that securely clips onto the back cover of books and magazines, then marks your page with archival ribbon when you close the book. This eliminates the need to insert a bookmark, lay it down separately from the book while reading, or reinsert it when you stop, ensuring that your page marking stays in place. This bookmark requires some archival ribbon, typically used for gift wrapping, which has a fabric feel but is very fine and thin, not plastic. The assembly process is easy but may be a bit fiddly for some people; however, it's worth the effort and only needs to be done once. To assemble this bookmark, follow these steps: (1) Print the .stl file as per the instructions, which should take around 20 minutes. Remove the four parts from the raft. (2) Cut the required length of archival ribbon and insert it into the clip part as shown in the images provided. Ensure it is fully inserted to the end of the recess. (3) Find the securing cap without a slot in it, and push the two small pins towards the ribbon and protruding side of the clip until they snap into place. Refer to the images for guidance. Note that these small pins grip and hold the ribbon, pushing it up into small recesses inside the clip. The back of the cap has a strip that acts as a lock to prevent the clip from pulling back out again. (4) Repeat the same process with the remaining parts to secure the base to the bookmark. In this case, gently feed the ribbon through the slot before inserting it into the base part, then push firmly together to secure and lock in place. The base part is optional but recommended to prevent the end of the ribbon from fraying. If you encounter issues with clearance, increase the scale until the parts fit together uniformly. On a Replicator 2, printed as per instructions, the bookmarks snap together perfectly every time, staying securely attached even when pulled on the ribbon.
