All eTrex Vista/Legend C/Cx/HCx GPS owners should have a battery cover adapter for bike or car mounts, included with the product. However, this accessory can be misplaced. For those without it, printable replacements are available in two styles: vertical and horizontal. The vertical version demands high print quality as layers are perpendicular to the flexible tongue, while the horizontal version is more robust due to parallel layers. Auxiliary support structures are needed for the horizontal version, which must be removed after printing. Use ABS material for the tongue, as it needs to bend 2mm when engaging and disengaging click-mounts. Printing settings should include a 0.40mm nozzle, 0.25mm/0.55mm layer height/width on a RepRap printer. A user correction was made for the horizontal version in September 2019, fixing an issue with supports starting at z=-0.1mm instead of z=0. This caused problems in certain slicers and layer heights. The corrected files are labeled "-v2". The adapter is also compatible with a self-printed eTrex bike mount.
