Clip-in Printer Bed Light

Clip-in Printer Bed Light

I used the Ender 3 extrusion light bar to add lights to my printer and it works well. The only problem is that the print head creates a shadow that makes it hard to see the current layer, especially when starting. I also had a lot of leftover 24 V LED light strip, so I thought it would be useful to add a strip of lights right at the bed height to make the first layer more visible. I have a BLTouch printer bed probe that I use to sense the z-end stop and have removed the end stop microswitch from my printer. This light clips into the v-slot where the z-end stop detector used to be. If you wish to use this design, then make sure that nothing protrudes beyond the edge of the printer leg when the x-axis is at home. This light bar is designed for 10 mm wide LED strips. It takes one 10 cm long strip, the minimum size for the LEDs that I have. There is a channel to guide the LED wires to the bottom of the holder. This design is a remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3272248 for the LED strip section and https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3458813/files for the v-slot clip. The light is removable. There are two versions. One with a light shade and one without. The original design was without a light shade, but after using it I decided the shade was a good idea. This should print without supports.
