After experimenting with making clips that slide over wood and stay put without bolts, I came up with a plan to replace the wooden LCD Panel enclosure on my Makerfarm i3v 10". You can use four M3x16mm socket head screws to mount the faceplate to the brackets & optionally you can mount the brackets to the wood frame with two M3x20mm socket head screws. It's a bit tight getting M3x20mm bolts attached, but they fit for me. The enclosure stays on pretty well without the bolts, but I added them to make sure they fit securely. I recommend printing test parts first to ensure a good fit, especially that the holes on the faceplate align with your LCD controller. The faceplate took 2.5 hours to print by itself. The two brackets took 2:08 to print. I printed these in PETG at 20% infill. Since I run my X-motor wire across the top, I added wire clips to my version, but you can print yours without them. I also included a control knob, but most people already have one of these printed. For the faceplate, I used dimensions & knob cutout dimensions from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:35438. For the Control Knob, I used some info from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:35438. The Part at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6194 also provided useful information. To get the hole pattern spacing to mount to the frame, I used the file https://github.com/DonKahones/MakerFarm-Prusa-i3v-12-Inch. This should work for both the 12" i3v and might even be compatible with the 8" i3v.
