Clio, Monte Calvo, 2nd century A.D., marble, Nye Carlsberg Glyptoteket (Copenhagen, Denmark). Made with Memento Beta. A youthful woman sits majestically on a rocky outcropping. Emulating similar representations found in the Vatican, she holds a scroll on her lap from which she is deeply engrossed in reading. She is Clio, the revered Muse of History. In ancient Greek mythology, Clio ("made famous" or "to make famous") is also spelled Kleio and is often associated with history or, in some mythological accounts, the lyre playing muse. Like all her fellow muses, she is a daughter of Zeus and the Titaness Mnemosyne. This remarkable object is part of the ambitious project "Scan The World". Scan the World is a groundbreaking non-profit initiative conceived by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from across the globe for public access. Scan the World is an open-source community effort, inviting anyone with intriguing items around them to contribute by emailing stw@myminifactory.com to learn how they can make a meaningful contribution.
