I was inspired by Devin Montes at Make Anything to design my own hangboard for finger strength training after discovering I could probably save money making my own. I managed to attach my hangboard to my pull-up bar, the Iron Gym Pro Fit, which turned out to be very convenient. I followed this video on installing a portable hangboard and bought everything shown in it, except for slippers. However, I found that #12 - 3/4" wood screws worked just fine instead of the #14 - 3/4" ones he purchased. I chose poplar as my material (7 1/4" X 24" X 3/4") and picked its size to ensure my holds fit at about shoulder-width apart. This design allows me to swap out handholds if I decide to make new ones in the future. The holds are mounted with two bolts and nuts using clearance holes that I drilled through the wood. You can see more pictures for reference. Additionally, I added grip tape pieces to the surfaces, which helped a lot. Still, I don't think I'll ever be able to do the 10mm depth pocket because there isn't enough space to fully crimp it and also because I'm still relatively weak.
