Climbing Finger Blocks
thingiverse
I designed Fingerblocks to maintain finger strength during Covid-19. They have holes for hanging from rope, which was essential since I rent my place and couldn't screw into walls. Instead, I hung ropes in the garage where I could print these blocks. Printing with engineering materials like PETG or ABS is recommended. Adding texture with fuzzy skin in Cura is a great option, but you can also turn off retractions, increase temperature, and use strings and blobs for a unique look. I'd rate these Fingerblocks as fairly easy to make. While the pockets are deep and wide, they lack a lip or undercut, making them relatively simple to print. Maybe I'll try a more challenging design in the future that's less filament-hungry. Check out my article on printed finger blocks at https://tinker.life/2020/05/08/printed-finger-blocks/.
