Climbing cam trigger bar replacement
thingiverse
I recently took a fall while trad climbing and on the way down my foot hit and broke the trigger bar on one of my black diamond C4 cams. BD doesn't offer any replacement parts for this (and they recommended throwing the cam out) so I decided to design one. Figured I'd upload it here for anyone else that may encounter the same situation. Designed to work with BD C4s, but should in theory work with other devices as well. This is a prototype and is far from perfect. ---
A few issues:
* Trigger wires occasionally pop out and must be placed back in * Pieces must be sanded to fit together * Pieces can slide apart if fit is not firm ---
Disclaimer
Climbing is an inherently dangerous sport. Repairing broken climbing devices is not recommended. By printing and using this piece you assume all responsibility for your safety. This repair should only be used by people who can accurately assess the risk at hand. This is a prototype device and has not been extensively tested, meaning that there may be issues that I have not listed above. Make sure to check it before climbing and while placing. If you encounter any issues please let me know. ---
