Clicky Life Counter

Clicky Life Counter

This thing needs a metal spring to function correctly. My compact little 12-sided clicky level or life counter is designed for games where counting up to ten is crucial. It comes equipped with the numbers **0-9**, an asterisk _*_ and a blank space. I mainly use it to play Munchkin and occasionally as a fidget toy to keep my fingers occupied. I recommend printing colorful variations of Top and Bottom parts and mixing them up repeatedly. I designed this thing from scratch using Tinkercad, but KidSwidden's design heavily influenced me. ## Printing Print each of the four parts at 0.2mm with 20% infill; that should be sufficient. I set my slicer to pause at certain layers so I could manually switch colors. This is highly recommended! I printed it using PLA and PETG, but not at the same time. ## Assembly - Place the Spring head on the spring and put both together into the Top part. - Put the Top on the Bottom part. - If available, apply a small drop of oil to the thread. - Secure the screw using a 1-Cent coin. ## Inspiration This thing is inspired by KidSwiddens' 12 Click Life Counter https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3732056. In contrast to KidSwiddens original design, I aimed to make the device - significantly smaller to reduce print time and material usage. - usable with one hand despite requiring some training. - work with less tolerances. - hold the top firmly. - distribute the numbers evenly. - print without supports. What I tried to replicate in a similar way was - the numbering. - the mechanics.
