Cleopatra's Needle
thingiverse
An ancient monument symbolizing gunboat diplomacy, Cleopatra's Needle is a red granite obelisk gifted by Egyptian rulers to cities of New York, London, and Paris. However, the recipients had to bear the cost of its transportation. Weighing over 220 tons each, these obelisks were moved across continents using ropes, horses, and steamships in the 18th century, reflecting fascination with ancient Egypt. The project was a collaborative effort by Ben Ellman, Michael Curry, and Matt Griffin.
