Clem'hand - v1
thingiverse
The CLEMhand is our pioneering effort to create an affordable, DIY prosthetic hand. Powered by body strength, it opens and closes with a precise grasp. Every part can be sourced from your local hardware store or 3D printed with ease, making this project accessible to anyone, anywhere. Our goal is clear: to develop a reliable alternative to conventional prosthetics that can seamlessly replace them in daily life. We've achieved a level of usability that makes it simple for you to get started, no matter your background or skill level. With the CLEMhand, you'll enjoy the convenience of releasing objects without having to hold onto them with your shoulder, thanks to an intuitive blocking mechanism. Keep in mind that while our system functions admirably, some experimentation may be needed to achieve a perfect fit for every object. Don't worry – this is normal! By drawing inspiration from real hands and leveraging advanced 3D scanning technology, we've created a prosthetic hand with a realistic shape that looks as good as it feels. But that's not all! Our innovative thumb design rotates between two distinct positions, allowing you to switch seamlessly between small and large object grasping modes. Reach for your wallet, a book, or even pick up a glass – the CLEMhand is designed to handle tasks big and small with ease. All necessary instructions are conveniently located in downloadable PDF guides, available in English and French.
