This remix provides extra clearance on the sides of the top carrier to prevent it from rubbing against the bottom of the build plate heating element. It relocates the side screw mount points downward by 3mm. The change also allows for secure tightening of the top carrier without fear of over-tightening. Simply tighten it as firmly as desired, and the spacing will match the 8mm smooth rods perfectly - or so it seems to be in my printer setup, which may differ from yours due to individual variations. To incorporate this remix into your printer, you'll need to utilize the lower piece from the original design. Additionally, you'll have to elevate the idler bearings, stepper pulley, and limit switch. Elevating the idler posts can be achieved by adding another 608zz bearing and removing the lower large washer as it's no longer required. Raising the limit switch involves using washers to lift it up and securing a small piece of plastic to the lever arm with glue. The stepper pulley is easily elevated by loosening its set-screws, moving it upward, and then tightening them again. I'm currently utilizing affordable bearings from Amazon, which may not be recommended but seem to be working well in my setup. With the top carrier securely tightened, I hope these cheaper bearings will continue to function without issues over time. The accompanying .zip file includes the OpenSCAD files as well as the original top piece for your reference and potential modification.
