Clearance Plate for sewing
thingiverse
This is a custom-made clearance plate for a sewing machine designed to facilitate smooth stitching over obstacles such as the leg seam on a pair of jeans. To use it, simply slide it under the presser foot, which will slightly elevate it, allowing for effortless sewing. A small hole in the center serves as a convenient needle holder, keeping the needle securely in place when changing it, preventing accidental drops into the machine's internal mechanisms. For more information on using a clearance plate, conduct a Google or YouTube search for "sewing clearance plate." The video "How to Sew a Jeans Hem" is particularly helpful, and you can find it by fast-forwarding to approximately 11 minutes into the video: /watch?v=ItyTDVA3xgg. As a beginner in machine sewing, I created this design based on photos and my machine's specifications. If there are any improvements that can be made, I welcome your suggestions. The clearance plate is manufactured from 8 grams of ABS plastic and takes approximately 20 minutes to produce. Both metric and SAE files are provided for easy printing and use.
