CLC BIO Team Oxygen Chamber fitting for Vernier Probe
thingiverse
NOTE: I have since re-made this concept and I'm using the Vernier sensor in a vertical position -- safer for the sensor and then I don't need the clear chamber box at all! You can see that file at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5514169 This is a fitting to be used in the Challenger Learning Center's Expedition Mars mission, in the Glovebox for the BIO team soil lab. We had problems with the oxygen sensor in the original chamber, so I removed the back panel of the box and created this fitting to replace it. The fitting screws onto the back using the same hex screws, and has an opening that securely holds the Vernier Go Direct O2 Gas Sensor we got from our Engagement Day supplies. For the mission, we place the Vernier probe in the chamber fitting and place the chamber in the Glovebox as usual. On top of the Glovebox, we have a tablet with Vernier's Graphical Analysis app on it. The sensor connects to the tablet via bluetooth, and we use the tablet to gather the oxygen data from the soil experiment. If you're at a Challenger Learning Center and you'd like to see the lab sheets we wrote to go along with this iteration, hit me up!
