Claystruder 1.1
thingiverse
This prototype of a clay extruding print head for a Rapman is based on the Frostruder, but utilizes one double action solenoid valve instead of two single ones. The design, not intended for elegance or easy printing, is a slightly enhanced version used in initial ceramics objects creation. A spare mounting plate with attached DXF for laser cutting from 5mm material serves as the base. Two STLs require support during 3D printing despite minimal overhangs. Compatible syringes of 50-60cc fit the base. The cap, doubling as a valve mount, demands a 12V DC 6012 miniature solenoid valve and two tubing connectors. A rubber plunger cap from a 60cc syringe is perforated to guide the tube for an air-tight seal. Two small clamps are used to hold the cap and base together, while a threaded rod with bolts triggers limit switches. The setup necessitates a compressor, 10 bar max, for functionality.
