I use the plastic to mold fun shapes, making it easy for kids to create with. The blue part is designed to fit popular clay extruders that many kids already love using. Kids can get rough or accidentally lose them, so I thought, "Why not design a whole toy?" I don't have a 3D printer yet to test it, but the design was created using mechanical drawing software and should work great.
