Clay Pipe, Edinburgh Castle
sketchfab
Archaeologists unearthed clay tobacco pipes from the late 18th century. During excavations at Edinburgh Castle between 1989 and 1991, researchers discovered 670 pipe fragments along with this example. The pipe was likely crafted locally by an Edinburgh clay pipe maker in that time period. A similar pipe found during the same excavation features the Hanovarian arms and may confirm English military presence at Edinburgh Castle back then.
