Clay 2 PLA Project - Clay Cup

Clay 2 PLA Project - Clay Cup

cults3d

Middle School Student Creates Clay 2 PLA Project with Makerbot Technology Student crafts an object by hand from clay, taking care to consider tolerances and limitations of 3D printers in the process. The crafted objects are then scanned using a Makerbot Digitizer and mass produced on a Makerbot Replicator 2. This is an example of a handmade clay cup created with low-fire white clay and glazed with food-safe colors. However, the Makerbot Digitizer still encounters issues with scanning cup openings, as evident in the original scan file. To overcome this challenge, the STL file is imported into TinkerCad where a cylinder is used to hollow out the cup part and a cube is employed to flatten the bottom for easier printing.
