The Claustro Catedral Oviedo - Partial Scan The Claustro is a Gothic work of art constructed in various phases, with the initial phase commencing in the year 1300 and concluding in 1441. It boasts a rectangular shape measuring 27 x 32 meters in length and width, where the longer sides are formed by an arcade of four arches and the shorter sides by three. The Claustro replaced the ancient Romanesque cloister from the twelfth century. In the eighteenth century, the enclosure underwent significant changes at the hands of architect Riva Ladrón de Guevara, who added a floor and upper balcony to it. Due to thermal expansion, various architectural styles can be observed within it.
