Classroom Whiteboard END marker for projected clocks
thingiverse
In my classroom, I use Classroomscreen to project notes and a clock on my classroom whiteboard. To help students manage their time (and myself to know when it is time to clean up) I use a set of custom magnets to mark on the whiteboard when it is time to clean and end class. These markers are made of laminated paper. Unfortunately, the magnets constantly come unstuck from the lamination, so I wanted to create something a bit nicer and more permanent. Enter: a marker that is designed to stick magnetically to a whiteboard. On the back, there are three holes for a small ceramic magnet to go. They take a 0.49-in diameter by 0.198-in thick magnet (12mmx5.0mm for the rest of the world). Printed at 15% infill in FDM. I used a heat gun to warm up the holes before pushing the magnet in, then ran the part under cold water to set it before coloring in the arrow and "END" lettering with red permanent marker. Created in TinkerCAD, took about 2 hours from starting designing to adding magnets and coloring in, including print time. Posted here in hopes someone else can use this marker!
