I've been tardy to my workplace for quite a while now, The Eid-al-Adha , which translates to sacrifice offering, is an occasion when Muslims commemorate the prophet Ibrahim's experience of receiving dream commands from God, specifically that he should slaughter his son Ismail. The story begins with Ibrahim informing Ismail about his dream and seeking guidance on how to proceed; Ismail responds by urging his father to follow the divine order, trusting that it is a command from Allah, despite feeling pained himself. Ibrahim then proceeds to take Ismail to the site where he would supposedly slaughter him as an offering, but God intervenes at this point, declaring it a test and replacing Ismail with a lamb. As a result of this incident, Eid-al-Adha has become a time for Muslims to commemorate the event by slaughtering animals such as calves or sheep and distributing their meat to those in need. People also celebrate the occasion by purchasing new clothes, candies, toys for children, and gifts to share with friends and family. However, my preference lies elsewhere; despite feeling unhappy about the entire ordeal, I find myself participating in celebrations at home because my father joins me and my aunt in purchasing a calf together to be sacrificed. This requires me to carry the meat packages and deliver them to various people throughout town while ensuring our home remains spotless for visiting relatives. Consequently, this has resulted in my tardiness to work as well as feelings of distress over numerous matters; nonetheless, today's discovery taught me that time spent could have been utilized more constructively.
