Classic PNW Drift Boat
thingiverse
I designed this drift boat based on measurements of my coworker's driftboat, drawing inspiration from its classic design. Drift boats are incredibly popular on Pacific Northwest rivers, particularly in Oregon and Washington, USA. They seem to be a staple of these waters but have yet to gain widespread popularity elsewhere. If you're aware of other locations around the world where drift boats are well-liked, please share your insights in the comments below. Although I'm not familiar with the history or heritage behind this type of boat design, I couldn't find an existing model, so I took matters into my own hands and created one myself. The scale is set at 1 mm to 1 inch, which translates to a ratio of approximately 25.4 to 1. Unfortunately, the oar locks didn't print perfectly, but I left them in the design for reference purposes. Additionally, there are a couple of minor modeling errors – the anchor mount and seat pad aren't entirely accurate – but I lost interest in fine-tuning every detail and moved on. The model still prints well, even if it's not 100% precise. Some parts will require supports during printing, while others might benefit from alternative orientations. This design is also compatible with the MMU2.
