Classic Kendama

When I was growing up, yo-yos were huge, especially the ones that could sleep, spinning endlessly on their strings. People would master all sorts of tricks, dazzling everyone with their skill and agility. I remember first seeing this Japanese toy and thinking, "That's cool," but I'd rather play with my Gameboy, lost in the virtual world. Nowadays, kendama are all the rage with people of all ages showing off their cup-catching prowess. I wanted to create this model as a tribute to the beautiful simplicity of the traditional toy. This kendama is comprised of three distinct components: the cup part slides snugly onto the stick until it's secure; the cup attaches to the ball via a sturdy string; and though the stick is built for accuracy, be sure to use a higher fill-rate on the stick portion to ensure that the stick stays securely in place. The entire kendama, when assembled without the ball, measures approximately 6.25 inches x 2.75 inches x 1.75 inches. The ball itself has a diameter of about 2.375 inches. I hope you enjoy experimenting with this kendama and come up with all sorts of innovative tricks to showcase your skills.
