The book "CLOCK AND WATCH ESCAPEMENT MECHANICS" by Mark V. Headrick is a valuable resource for understanding escapement design. It can be found online (http://www.nawcc-index.net/Articles/Headrick-EscMechanics.pdf). I present essential information from the book and offer accurate simulations using Inventor 2014. The three classical escapement mechanisms are Graham, Recoil, and Swiss Lever. This text covers the Brocot escapement, which is briefly mentioned in the book (p. 18). To create a Brocot escapement, use the modified Graham escapement design and follow the picture "Protrusions on palette.jpg" for guidance. You can experiment with simulation settings in Inventor to achieve stable movement. I included a joke at the end of the text, but no one has noticed it yet. An alternative resource is Ken Kuo's simulation and description (https://youtu.be/vh1rH6WGv60). Enjoy learning about escapement mechanics!
