This continuation of Classic Escapement - Graham (Ideal) project presents the Modified Graham escapement, based on Mark V. Headrick's book "Clock and Watch Escapement Mechanics" (1997). You can download the public book here for comparison: http://www.nawcc-index.net/Articles/Headrick-EscMechanics.pdf. All parts, assemblies, and simulations were made with Inventor 2014. The presentation covers the modified palette, its angle, movement due to the pendulum, the permanent wheel rotation, and the role of red faces. It also explains why a torque is applied instead of threads/ropes in Dynamic Simulation, and how the potential energy of the virtual weight is consumed to feed the pendulum's swing. Graphs showing movement are included for analysis. Enjoy!
