Classic Car Dashboard Light Socket 5mm LED conversion
thingiverse
This print will convert your old incandescent dash lights to 3 LEDs instead. Recommended to print out of PETG or ABS(PLA may sag/melt in high temperatures commonly encountered inside cars on a hot summer's day, PLA also has a habit of 'letting go' under constant tension, something these sockets' retention relies on). Also recommended to use WARM WHITE leds to maintain that well known & attractive 'eerie' green glow of dash lights in a classic car(automakers, Bring that back). This was tested to perform adequately in fit, form and function in a 1963 plymouth valiant instrument cluster. Your mileage may vary, but I believe these sockets are standard across all domestic(USA) car makers of the time(1960s to late 80s, perhaps early 90s in some models). Of course soldering as well as your choice of resistor is up to you. 160 ohms or there about seems like a good starting point for a 14v system and white LEDs. PLEASE ENABLE COMBING(cura) FOR BEST RESULTS. STRINGING MAY CAUSE "HAIR STRING" SHADOWS THAT WILL SHOW UP ON INSTRUMENTS.
