Clasp for a Topmodel Jewellery Box
prusaprinters
So this fun little project became extremely important when my daughter broke the clasp on her topmodel jewellery box. Dad to the rescue with a little CAD design and some intelligent slicing. It saved us a bunch of money not having to throw the box in the bin.I removed the old clasp by drilling out the four rivets and took the necessary measurements in order to make a new 3D model. This means that in order to fasten the new printed model you will need 4 pcs of M3x6 screws and matching nuts. The model needs strength in the loop and therefore it has to be printed on the side. See pictures. I printed it with a 0.4mm nozzle with 0.2mm resolution, 100% infill and with supports enabled (painted on the loop). First I tried it with a PLA glitter filament, but it was too brittle, so I switched to some standard white PLA which worked like a charm. Hope it works for you too. :)
