Classy curtains aren't the only thing that brings style to your rendering game, V-Ray render and materials do it best, and here's why: Materials only live within 3ds Max and FBX files. For FBX scenes specifically, all textures for one master material are neatly stored in a maxzip file, but don't expect to use those same textures across the board – you'll need to reapply them manually every time you're working with FBX, OBJ, 3DS, DXF, or DWG file versions. On top of that, you can forget about seamless transitions from one scene to another because all scene textures are kept in their own dedicated directory, rooted deep at the very start.
