My son needed an affordable reed for marching band practice. He gave me one of his 3.0 reeds, which delivers the best tone, and asked me to duplicate it. We experimented with various designs, starting from versions that produced no sound at all, then moving on to reeds that sounded more like vuvuzelas, until we arrived at this version that surprisingly matches a high-quality wood reed's pitch.
