This multi-material remix of RyanResolution's Clapper Slate (Thingiverse thing:1463739) is designed for printers capable of printing with two distinct filaments. It prints as one seamless piece and requires no assembly whatsoever. The color transitions occur precisely 1 layer (0.2 mm) above the preceding top surface, thereby preventing the nozzle with black color from traversing over the white surface and leaving unsightly black streaks in its wake. In addition to splitting it into two materials, I also made some tweaks to the original model: A narrower gap was introduced for the clapper to increase the surface area where the two parts come into contact, which should result in a slightly louder sound (although it still falls short of perfection, it only really touches at the end). The tiny overhanging part was eliminated. The top 'clapper' part was made less thick. A larger font was incorporated to reduce the risk of incompletely printed letters. The hinge was reinforced and tightened to provide a more robust connection (tolerance is now 0.3 mm). This particular model is only for the smaller version, as I didn't tackle the XL design due to its excessive size for my printer's capabilities. A single-material STL file is also available for those who prefer to print this tweaked model in a single material or rely on filament swapping at specific layer heights. No supports are required for printing this model. To release the hinge from its stuck position, I inserted a sheet of cut-up blister packaging between the gaps.
