The clapper block is utilized in shapers, planers, and slotting machines for its efficient operation. The clapper swings up effortlessly and falls back down with a slight push. Attached to the hinged clapper box is a pre-fitted tool block that includes an apron. This tool block holds a tool post to secure the tool in place. During cutting, the tool block remains rigidly inside the clapper box; however, during the return stroke, it lifts out of the clapper to prevent the tool from rubbing against the job.
