So, Zoom makes this: (https://www.zoom-na.com/products/field-video-recording/field-recording/zoom-iq5-professional-stereo-microphone-ios) awesome add-on mic for your iPhone 5 and up, BUT it doesn't ship with a protective case of any kind. The Zoom iQ5 isn't an accessory that you leave plugged into your phone all the time because it's both bulky and fragile. Most of the time, you'll want to throw it in your gear bag, and not worry about it. That's where this tough clamshell case comes in. I designed the case to be sturdy enough to withstand rattling around in the bottom of my gig bag, but when I need the iQ5, I can find it easily and quickly pop open the case. The latching tab holds the clamshell shut snugly without being too hard to open. The textured string-printed parts actually enhance the latching feature. Instructions: There are only two easy-to-print parts. You'll also need two #4 screws. I used pan heads. A minimum length of .375" is needed, but .5" or even .75" will fit fine. Be prepared to drill out the holes for the screws to clean them up, otherwise you might split open your printed parts with the screws. I'm adding a few pads of self-stick felt inside the case to cradle the iQ5 more firmly, and it still fits pretty well.
