**** Update 2020-07-21 **** I added a "shelf" component that attaches to the stand and holds a phone (or other item). It has been extremely useful for placing my personal phone between two test devices. **** Original Description **** A comprehensive solution for mounting multiple devices like phones, tablets, etc. on a desk. Note that this setup doesn't include any mechanism to secure the device. Instead, it provides a rod clamped to the edge of the desk, allowing you to mount things. The rod measures 25mm in diameter, making it suitable for any device mount designed for bicycle or motorcycle handlebars. In my "day job," I recently transitioned to working as a mobile app developer. I needed a solution that would keep my test devices readily available while minimizing the actual desk space required. Since I have a keyboard drawer that slides out from under the desk, having the phones clamped to the edge of the desk has been an ideal solution for me. This model consists of three functional components: **Clamp** Attaches to the edge of a desk and features a cylindrical opening for inserting the shaft, as well as a knob that can be tightened to lock the shaft in place. **Shaft** A modular set of parts that allows you to build a shaft of any desired length. There are three "building blocks": - Threaded Shaft (130mm without threads) - It's a rod with a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other. You can connect multiple shafts together to create something longer. (I use 3 of them together to hold 2 phones, with enough extra space that I can turn them to landscape orientation, or I could add 1-2 more phones in portrait orientation.) - Male Cap - Add one of these to give a "finished" look to the female end of the shaft(s) - Female Cap - Add one of these to give a "finished" look to the male end of the shaft(s) **Shelf** A support surface that can be placed on the shaft to hold an actual device. Simply slide it over the shaft before one or both clamps, and you can use the same small knob used to secure the shaft in the clamp to fix the shelf onto the shaft.
