Clamp Loader Complex
thingiverse
DNA polymerases are less processive as they often fall off DNA quickly, hence slow. However, attaching a sliding clamp around the DNA molecule can enhance their speed and fidelity. This complex allows the polymerase to stick to the end of the clamp, resulting in increased processivity from 10 base pairs to 80,000. The closed clamp's PDB ID is 3u5z. To print the structure, use 0.4mm layer width and 0.128 layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle at 45mm/s feed rate. Employ KISSlicer for slicing and set support to "dense" while reducing support flow rate to 70% of the object's flow rate using an external script. Though removing support can be challenging, a piece of armature wire can help in reaching the hidden cracks and crevices.
