TIP: Print at 100.5% to 101% size, as the shrinkage might make the fit too tight!! This custom flange mount secures firmly to Nikon kit lenses and most automatic lenses, allowing you to clamp a tarp or plastic bag onto your camera body while shooting outside. I designed it specifically for timelapses with my camera, since sometimes I leave the camera unattended for many hours at a time. With this protection in place, there's minimal to no damage to the camera and lens if it rains. The flange engages securely on the outside notch found on Nikon lenses, rather than relying on the 52mm thread, which is nearly impossible to print accurately with most 3D printers. This clever design achieves a rock-solid engagement with the lens and provides exceptional rigidity! I've created a short video demonstrating how it's supposed to mount and how I attach the bag to it.
