The HMD comprises three components: strap, optics, and display module. These parts are interchangeable and easily upgradable for enhanced functionality. Designed for use with Standalone display kit electronics from Rozsnyo/VRunion, the system requires a single HDMI cable (carrying power, video, and USB) to operate. Alternatively, the standard RiftUP and DK1 cables can be used. The kits are available at http://riftup.rozsnyo.com/, with numerous successful units produced and positive customer feedback. To facilitate construction, a wiki page detailing the HMD assembly process will soon be released.
