Claber Sprinkler Rotary mechanism part
thingiverse
After struggling to revive my lawn following a harsh winter, I discovered that my trusty Claber oscillating sprinkler had succumbed to the cold temperatures, its fragile 'bar' having snapped in two. Upon closer inspection, it became clear that only half of the broken piece remained intact. Determined not to let this setback thwart my plans, I took on the challenge of designing a replacement part, carefully estimating dimensions and angles based on my limited knowledge. After printing a few prototypes, I was thrilled to find that my makeshift solution worked flawlessly, saving me from the expense of purchasing an entirely new sprinkler. In fact, it allowed me to water my lawn within an hour, rather than waiting for a replacement to be delivered. While my creation is far from perfect and rough around the edges, it has fulfilled its purpose and met my basic needs. I hope that by sharing this experience, I may help someone else avoid the same fate as myself, which unfortunately includes having had to replace not one, but two sprinklers in quick succession due to similar causes. As it turns out, this makeshift design prints remarkably quickly for me, completing its task within just 15 minutes.
