Civil Warrior CW-01 General Grant Super Mode Shoulder Gun Mount
thingiverse
This bracket allows Civil Warrior's CW-01 General Grant to mount his gun over his shoulder in Super/Combined Mode. The gun fits snugly similar to how it rests in his hand, while the bracket secures over a small horizontal section inside his backpack. This design can remain in place even when transformed back into a trailer without obstructing anything. Note: I prefer mounting this on General Grant's right-hand side. You will need to mirror it for the left-hand side. *Update 04/05/20* I have uploaded two new designs: a stylized version of the static mount, and a two-part articulated mount. The articulated variant (A-1 and A-2) features a ratcheted joint that allows for three clicks of rotation, with the most elevated position being roughly in line with General Grant's upper limit. *Update 05/05/20* I have updated the articulated A-1 file to tighten up the ratchet and add extra points of grip. Since the grip ring is fairly narrow and the teeth are small, I increased the width of the ring slightly, added two extra fixed mounting points, and doubled up on the teeth. No change in articulation range or number of steps, and compatible with the original A-2. *Update 03/06/20* I have finished designing a new articulated mount in the form of C-1 and C-2. These are NOT compatible with the A mount, but offer a few advantages: they joining pin is now 4mm across (was 2.8mm), a set of three teeth now lock the two parts together (assemble/disassemble at 90° rotation), and both pieces can be printed without supports (makes the joint cleaner, though at the cost of being 1.2mm wider). The actual ratchet mechanism is unchanged from variant A. *Update 05/06/20* I have tightened up the joint in the C variant and made some slight changes to the model decoration. The end result is that it should print very slightly faster (C-1 is about 1 minute faster) and hold position much better. Note that it will be VERY stiff initially, but will wear to a more reasonable (but still usable) point fairly rapidly. It should still be perfectly compatible with the old C variant pieces, so if you want to save time and filament than only one of them would need reprinting to get most of the benefit (though I would recommend both).
