This expansion pack contains all components for the Cities and Knights game except cards, building upon my existing basic game design found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1238980. Check out the official game rules at http://www.catan.com/service/game-rules or here: https://kelvsyc.wordpress.com/catan-scenario-and-variant-guide/. Print these pieces to complete the expansion: 1. One counter for the barbs to attack, marked from S to A. 2. One barbarian ship model. 3. Twelve monopoly models, with three per player needed. 4. Twelve city-wall models, three per player required, including two types in the files; choose your preferred design to print. 5. Twenty-four knights models, numbered 1 to 3, representing six knights for each player: two each of number 1 (weakest), two of number 2, and two of number 3 (strongest). 6. Twenty-four crowns to activate the knights, with six required per player; place one crown over a knight's body as shown in the pictures. 7. Four dealers/traders models, one for each player needed. 8. One boat model for the dealer. Optional Interlocking Landscapes: If you prefer not to use magnets, interlocking landscape pieces are available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2035221. Optional City Improvements: Enhance your game with additional city improvements found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1653105. Additional Piece Holders (by MagnusH): Further expand your gameplay with extra piece holders available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2318157. The Dealer's Role: In the original expansion, a dealer was introduced to enable trading resources 2:1 when placed beside a city. However, due to the 3D design's limitations, it was challenging to place the dealer on a steep resource field. A solution is to print and use a boat for the dealer that can be placed on a trading harbor instead, as seen in the example. Monopolies/Metropolis Pieces: Two game versions exist: German (newer) and English (older). Each has its distinct way of using monopole pieces, which I have included in my expansion pack. To determine the correct rules to follow, refer to the section below. German Version: In this version, each player receives three metropolis pieces for their color. These colors do not correspond with development aspects, so if you're playing as blue, all metropolises built on the board will have blue as their color. This is more intuitive for determining which city belongs to a specific player but complicates identifying the development aspect associated with each piece (science = green, trade = yellow, politics = blue). English Version: Only three metropolises are included in this version, each matching one of the development aspects' colors (yellow, green, and blue). If you have permission to build a metropolis, choose its color according to the desired development aspect and place it on the board accordingly. My recommendation is to use the English rules if your player-piece colors differ from yellow, green, or blue, printing only three metropolises with these colors. For players using German rules whose pieces include at least one of these colors, print monopole pieces matching each player's color.
