This a set of parts to assemble a toy train of Citadis tram sections. The design follows the general form factor of the steam-age Skaneateles Handicrafters (SHC) wooden trains. They were all 2 1/2" long, body 1" wide, body 1" high, overall height 1 1/4", wheels 3/4" diameter, details minimal. You can configure the trams any way you like, but known arrangements are:Sydney Light Rail : end-suspended-mid-suspended-end-end-suspended-mid-suspended-end, the dominant colour is red.Dublin Luas (light rail) : end-suspended-mid-suspended-mid-suspended-end, the dominant colour is grey. The shortest arrangement is end-supended-end.If you are adding to an old SHC set then printing with wood filament would look best. Otherwise choose a colour that your child will recognize. The version with rail wheels combined with cheap track or OS railway, (print-it yourself) is a safe way to introduce your child to real railways where the wheel is supported on the tread but guided by the flange. The end sections are available in two versions:magnet - there is cavity in the nose for a ferrite ring magnet and a pilot hole for an upholstery pin for security and to give a rounded end; andplain - there is a pilot hole for adding a screw hook or a screw eye to match the SHC connection system (eye in front, hook behind). Alternatively you could add a screw hook in front to allow the tram to be towed behind a Plarail engine. Alternatively you could leave the ends blank for a better appearance. The wheels are available in three versions:SHC - a section of a sphere to match the wooden wheels on the SHC cars. Runs on original SHC and most modern track, also on Plarail and its descendants;Plain - a thin disc with a rounded edge to run more smoothly on some Chinese track, also on all other wooden track and Plarail; andRail - wheels have a tread and a thin flange. The flange diameter is the same as the other two types of wheel and they run on all wooden tracks, also OS railway and on other 0-gauge railway systems, including tube rails etc. Unfortunately they sometimes jam in Plarail curves. Here is a set with rail wheels running on vintage 3-rail tin-plate tube rail track:https://youtu.be/rDoBWMdphGs Support - support can be avoided by suitable placement on the bed, It is only really necessary for the carrying arms of the suspended section. Do not use support in the pilot holes otherwise the upholstery pins will not go in straight, if at all.Related: Spare Cars for Skaneateles Handicrafters Wooden Railway https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6324076Cars inspired by Skaneateles Handicrafters Wooden Railway https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6351721
