We have an old toilet cistern in one of our bathrooms that lets the wind howl through during the winter, making the room feel icy and posing a risk to the cistern freezing up completely. This dip end fits snugly onto the top of the pipe (for bottom entry overflows) and dips into the water, blocking the cold air from circulating through the pipe. The pipe still allows water to overflow through it if the ballcock starts to malfunction. Most modern cisterns overflow directly into the toilet pan but if you have an older design with a bottom entry, this may be just what you need. It's designed as a loose push fit onto the top of the 21mm overflow pipe and can also be secured with a small amount of silicone in the pipe socket without blocking the holes where the water exits. We recommend printing it in PETG or ABS due to PLA's tendency to degrade when submerged in water, making these materials a better choice for this specific application.
