Circus Commissary Wagon No. 104

Circus Commissary Wagon No. 104

thingiverse

Modeled after the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Commissary Wagon No. 104, this creation was designed using Autodesk 123D Beta software, based on a plan featured in "The Little Circus Wagon" (September-October 1983 issue). The wagon, originally 15 feet long, is represented with a quarter-inch scale per foot. The undercarriage and wheel details were simplified for easier printing, resembling O gauge specifications. Historically, the wagon featured rubber wheels; however, wooden ones with steel rims could have been used in earlier times. When printing the undercarriage and wheels, ensure that the detailed side faces upwards, while supports or rafts can be omitted if your printer allows. To assemble the model, use super glue to attach the wheels to the axles. The publication "The Little Circus Wagon" is a product of Circus Model Builders International, while Autodesk 123D Beta is a free CAD program that will cease support from December 31st, transitioning to a more simplified version. This Commissary served as the general store for circus personnel who often found themselves distant from towns. The model features lettering in two sizes: ¼ inch per foot and 1/8th inch per foot.
