This Ringling Bros. Air Calliope wagon No. 2 model, from the July-August 1997 "Little Circus Wagon" publication, comes in kit form for easy printing with maximum detail preservation. A .jpg of graphics is downloadable to enhance detail further. The high relief scrolls on the skyboards were created using Ransen Software's "PhotoToMesh," while curved windows in the wagon sides were done in Autodesk 123D Beta and modified in Meshmixer. The model is sized for a 1/4-inch scale = 1 foot, but can also be printed at double scale. However, half scale (HO) may not print acceptably certain parts like wheels, brake wheel, and flag posts. To assemble, print two copies of sides, front, and rear wheels; four flag post copies (if using parade flags); and one copy of all other parts. Paint before assembly using acrylics, with acetone/ABS slurry as primary glue except on painted areas needing Super Glue. Apply white glue to print paper designs for graphics instead of decal paper. Lastly, pair the model with air calliope music from your smartphone playlist for a complete circus music box experience.
