When people have pillboxes, the biggest problem is ensuring the medication actually gets into the actual pill box. Since relying solely on the look of the medication may be challenging, this can lead to complications. In some cases, manufacturers modify pills or store them in special containers to prevent moisture and light from affecting their effectiveness. Some pill boxes are designed to simply hold pills without providing reminders about when and what time to take them. This can pose a significant risk to many senior citizens, whose safety and well-being may be compromised due to the lack of clear instructions. My pill box design addresses these concerns by incorporating a designated area for displaying medication schedules, dosages, and other critical information. By doing so, I aim to reduce the likelihood of incorrect medication use and potentially life-threatening overdoses. This innovative approach also minimizes the risk of mixing medications, which can lead to further complications. Furthermore, my pill box design reduces medication wastage by providing a clear and organized system for tracking medication usage. The compact circular shape of this pill holder makes it easy to rotate and access different compartments. For individuals with visual impairments, the pill holder will feature braille labels, ensuring accessibility and independence. Additionally, the mechanism within the pill holder allows users to easily switch between day and night medications, providing a convenient and personalized experience.
